Mystery -- The Boxcar Children

Many gifted Children love this series.
Publisher Recommended Reading Level: 9-12

Summary: Can you imagine a group of children living in a railroad boxcar with no adults to care for them? Gertrude Chandler Warner imagined just that.  She even wondered what it would be like to be such a child and from this wondering came her books about the boxcar children -- Henry, Jessie, Violet and Benny Alden -- who find themselves living in a boxcar after the death of their parents.
Fortunately, the children's wealthy grandfather eventually finds them and provides them with a good home, but the adventures they had living alone out of the boxcar don't end once they have a good home. Throughout the series the Alden children travel to various parts of the country, getting involved in many exciting mysteries.
