All-Time Favorites - Roald Dahl

Publisher Recommended Reading Level: Most of Dahl's books are intended for children anywhere from age 7 to 12.  Some of them, however, have a publisher recommended reading level either higher or lower. These are noted in the list to the right. Remember that many gifted children read above the recommended level.

About Roald Dahl's Books
Dahl's books weave together experiences from his childhood and his imagination, which results in what can only be called modern fairy tales.  Often violent and grotesque, the stories tell of children who break free from wicked and cruel adults and go off on amazing adventures.  Like a good fairy tale, good triumphs over evil, evil is punished, and revenge is sweet!
