Mystery -- Great Brain

Gifted children who enjoy mysteries will love these books.
Publisher Recommended Reading Level: 9-12

Summary: The narrator of these books is J. D., who idolizes his older brother Tom, a.k.a. The Great Brain. Tom is a mischievous little con artist, who uses his "great brain" for his schemes and for getting out of trouble. But he also uses it to help other kids -- like the kids who were lost in Skeleton Cave -- and to solve mysteries. J.D. and Tom's adventures take place at the turn of the 20th century. The stories are charming, and funny, touching, and captivating.

These books are as entertaining for adults as they are for kids, and I'm sure more than a couple parents of gifted kids can relate quite well to a brainy little con artist!
