Fantasy/Adventure -- Magic Tree House

Gifted children who enjoy fantasy stories enjoy the books in this series.  Publisher Recommended Reading Level: 9-12

Summary: Eight-year-old Jack and his seven-year-old sister, Annie, discover a mysterious tree house in the woods in Frog Creek, Pennsylvania.  When they climb the tree house, they discover that it's filled with books.  The tree house and the books inside soon lead them to many adventures because, as they learn, the tree house and the books are magic!

If they point to a picture and make a wish to go there, they are immediately transported in space and time.  With each transportation, they end up having an exciting adventure.

Some of their adventures involve dinosaurs, Pilgrims, tornadoes, the Amazon River, Lakota Indians, Australia, the Titanic, the moon, pirates, mummies, and the Revolutionary War.  But those are just a sampling of what children will find in the 31 books in the series.
