Fantasy/Adventure -- Redwall

This fantasy series is one that many gifted children enjoy.

Summary: The Redwall series is named after the community in which the main characters live.  Those characters include the peace-loving mice, squirrels, and moles, who are pitted against the villanous weasels, foxes, and rats.  One of the good guys is Martin the Warrior, a sword-wielding mouse.  That should give you an idea of the flavor of this series.  Children who enjoy stories in fantasy settings reminiscent of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance (like Lord of the Rings) will enjoy the Redwall series.
