Support and Sharing. If you are looking for a place to go to vent about problems you are encountering either at home or at school with your gifted child, you can come to the forums. Or maybe your child has done something wonderful, but you don't want to share it with others because they always think you're bragging. Or perhaps you need some reassurance. You feel like you're flunking parenting 101 and you want to know you aren't alone or that you aren't really flunking. You don't want to feel alone. Whichever emotional rollercoaster you're on, you can ride it over to the About.com Gifted Children Site Forum and get just the kind of support you need.
Opinions on Books and Toys. Stop in and ask other parents in the forum for opinions on books or toys you are thinking about buying your child. Or if you know a great book or toy you'd like to recommend to other parents of gifted children, you can do that as well. Other parents will be pleased to see your reviews!
Programs for Gifted Children. The forum is also a good place to go to learn about or post reviews on places or programs for gifted kids available throughout the U.S. These places and programs do not have to be exclusively for gifted children, but are certainly some of their favorites! (Space Camp is an example of such a place.)
