Parenting Tip: Have a wide variety of construction sets and accessories and make them easily accessible so your gifted child can give play to his or her imagination on a variety of levels. Some gifted children need some time alone, to think, to reflect, to get over wounds. These larger blocks can be used to construct temporary privacy spots where they can go to work things out before they are ready to talk about them. Perhaps your child would like to learn all about fort making. Here's a good book for it!
