Parenting Tip: Do the typical children's games leave your gifted children less than enthused and maybe a little bit bored? To avoid this problem, always look for games that will encourage your child to think. Gifted kids love mental challenge; they love to learn. So any game that challenges them or allows them to learn will be sure to be hits!
When you're looking for games for your gifted children, keep in mind that the recommended ages are not always accurate -- unless the game was designed for gifted children! If you aren't sure whether your child is ready for a particular game or not, consider this: it's better to get a game that is too old for a child than one that is too young. If a game is too young, your child will never play it. If the game is too old, your child may play it later.
