Parenting Tip: If you have a young gifted child who wants to get a close up view of the stars, buy a pair of binoculars rather than a telescope for starters. It's often difficult for children to focus a telescope, and they get frustrated when they can't see anything. Binoculars, though, are much easier for children and they can use binoculars all by themselves. When they're ready, you can always move on to a beginner's telescope.
